Social Worker – Child Protection & Court Teams

Exciting positions have arisen for a Social Worker to join the Court & Child Protection Teams

Our recent Ofsted inspection confirmed we’ve changed and we would love to welcome you along for the ride.

Is it the exceptional benefits? The truly flexible approach to hybrid working? The generous holiday allowance? The pay and package that sets us apart?

Truth is, it’s all of these and more, but it’s really about our people. When people join the team at Sandwell they say it feels like they become part of the family.

The Social Worker Role

The Trust has vacancies for a Social Worker to join our Court & Child Protection Teams within the newly realigned Operations Service.  Based in a locality model with a focus on good quality assessments and dynamic planning which deliver timely evidence-based interventions and the progress of pre-proceedings/care proceedings through to permanency planning, this service will strengthen partnership working with families in local communities.

As a Social Worker in one of the Child Protection & Court Teams you will:

  • Work alongside the Assessment & Intervention Teams and be based in the same locality; these teams will respond swiftly when children’s needs are more acute, and risks are higher;
  • Work in an organised and planned way to ensure timescales set by the Trust and the Court are consistently met;
  • Produce reports for Court, write court statements, care plans and assessments in a succinct manner, demonstrating highly attuned skills in gathering, assessing and analysing key information leading to evidenced-based recommendations for children;
  • Represent the Trust in giving evidence in Court.
Salary £35,409 – £46,016* per annum plus the possibility of up to £6,500 relocation allowance and access to excellent employee benefits

I have worked at two other local authorities since and I can honestly say you wont find a better place to work than Sandwell.

I can see how the Trust is changing, and the work loads are definitely reducing. The teams have had a restructure since I was here last and its definitely for the better.

The people at Sandwell are amazing, you feel like part of a family and the support I have had so far has been brilliant. I made the right decision coming back.
